About UsLate in 1979, a group of forward thinking businessmen started an organization to promote business in Amador County. By mid 1980 Amador Economic Development Corp. was formed as a private, non-profit 501 C (4) organization. In 1982 AEDC applied for and received the designation of a “Certified Development Company” (CDC) by the US Small Business Administration, which enabled AEDC to arrange and package low down payment, below market interest rate loans for Amador County businesses. Economic and community development is at the core of what AEDC does day in and day out. Besides providing a source of capital for small businesses, AEDC’s other goals include promoting workforce development, attracting new businesses to locate in Amador County, encouraging the improvement of infrastructure and advocating the siting of a community college in Amador. Most importantly, AEDC’s primary focus is to advocate prudent and balanced economic growth; growth that is innovative, resilient and diverse; growth that occurs for the combined advantage of the private sector, the business community, the environment and developers. Starting out as one of Amador’s best kept secrets in the financial arena, AEDC has evolved as the “go to” place for commercial loans. In providing access to capital to small businesses that allows them to expend, we are strengthening the economic backbone of the county – stimulating job growth, boosting tax bases and fostering community revitalization. In short, we’re helping to create wealth for small businesses and the community. |
